Policies
Conduct
All conference attendees are expected to abide by NCS’s Non-Discrimination/Sexual Harassment policy: “NCS is committed to providing an environment that is free of discrimination and harassment. Actions, words, jokes, or comments based on an individual’s sex, sexual orientation, race, ethnicity, age, religion, disability or any other legally protected characteristic will not be tolerated. All NCS members, and all those who do business with NCS, have the right to work in an environment that is free from sexual and other kinds of harassment.” Further details on this policy can be found on the NCS website: https://newchaucersociety.org/page/NonDiscriminationSexualHarassmentPolicy
Health
Covid remains a feature of the public health landscape in California. Delegates are encouraged to mask indoors if they are experiencing symptoms of illness or have had a known exposure to Covid. Local guidance on masking, testing, and vaccination may be found through the Pasadena Department of Public Health: https://www.cityofpasadena.net/covid-19/#news
Accessibility
NCS strives to make the Congress accessible to all attendees, both online and in-person. We encourage presenters to prepare their materials with visually or hearing- impaired colleagues in mind. Please consider
captioning pre-recorded papers
describing any visuals used in the presentation
employing a simple sans serif font
avoiding using color in slide backgrounds
If you have questions, concerns, or would like to make specific accommodation requests, please reach out to the local organizing committee (jahner@caltech.edu).
