2022 CongressRegistration for the 22nd Biennial New Chaucer Society Congress is now closed The 22nd Biennial New Chaucer Society Congress will move ahead with plans for the Biennial Congress in Durham, UK, 11th-14th July 2022. This decision is the result of consultation with Neil Cartlidge of Durham University; Daryl Dowding of Event Durham; Anthony Bale, President of NCS; Julie Orlemanski and Phil Knox, Co-Chairs of the Program Committee, as well as committee members Jennifer Jahner, Sarah McNamer, and Samantha Katz Seal, along with NCS Trustees Seeta Chaganti, Karma Lochrie, Robert Meyer-Lee, Sif Ríkharðsdóttir, David Raybin, Kellie Robertson, and Marion Turner. To those at Durham in all capacities, especially, and to the members of the Program Committee for their nimble and creative efforts, we all owe great thanks. Over four hundred participants on a very rich program have confirmed taking part in person. We are working with Prof. Neil Cartlidge and colleagues at Durham University, including those at Event Durham, to determine the means and measures of support for remote participation. As previously shared, a synchronous, fully hybridized meeting is not possible, due to the practical limits of available technology. All plans are contingent on any new variants of the COVID-19 virus and potential travel restrictions, including possible testing and quarantining requirements.
