Volume 5 of New Chaucer Studies: Pedagogy and Profession is now up and out!  This volume includes a rich and varied collection of essays. In the cluster, “Teaching v. Research,” Arthur Bahr, Andreea Boboc, Megan Cook, Kathleen Forni, Leah Haught, Zachary Hines, and Frank Grady explore the relationship between these twin aspects of our profession across institutions and regions. In the cluster, “The Time of Psychoanalysis” (edited by Ruth Evans and R. D. Perry), Rita Copeland, Wan-Chuan Kao, Patty Ingham, Paul Megna, Jessica Rosenfeld consider the usefulness of psychoanalytic criticism.  Three essays, by Jennifer Alberghini, Juliana Chapman, and Daniel Sawyer, reflect on teaching Chaucer and Middle English poetry. Candace Barrington interviews Patience Agbabi about Telling Tales in our “Conversations” column. Michael Calabrese reflects on teaching Piers Plowman in “How I Teach. Michelle M. Sauer offers the history of the International Anchoritic Society for “Histories.”
