Welcome to the website for the New Chaucer Society! The NCS is a scholarly community committed to fostering research and interest in the age of Chaucer broadly speaking. We welcome any and all members to join our community!
The membership renewal period for 2024 is now officially closed, although we welcome renewals at any time. To renew your membership or to register as a new member please click here. Do note that NCS members must be in good standing to be elected for governance, participate in the Biennial Congress and to receive their volumes of Studies in the Age of Chaucer. The next cycle of due renewals begins 1 January 2025. We will be sending out reminders to renew to all current members. Do remember to keep you email address updated in our members’ registry to ensure you are kept updated on events and activities.
The next Congress will be held in Freiburg 27-30 July 2026. The Local Organising Committee and the Programme Committee are currently hard at work preparing for the arrival of our members to Freiburg in 2026. A call for session proposals will be forthcoming in due course.
