NCS Congress Participation

NCS is fully committed to the importance of an inclusive environment that embraces all people regardless of gender, race, sexual orientation, disability, or other modes of difference (for more on our professional code of ethics, see http://newchaucersociety.org/pages/entry-sub/statement-of-professional-ethics). As a scholarly community we always strive to cultivate a welcoming and safe environment for all Congress participants. Our shared expectation is that participants will attend the Congress in person and will deliver their presentations themselves. To that end, NCS does not usually allow congress participants to present their papers, comments, and posters via videoconferencing platforms such as Skype, audio delivery, or delivery by surrogates. We also realize that participation in person may not always be possible. In certain circumstances, alternative presentation methods will be considered by the Executive Director, Ruth Evans (revans19@slu.edu), in consultation with the Trustees and other relevant parties.

Anyone who is unable to attend the Congress can ask to link print copies, images, or videos of presentations to the online Program. Contact the NCS Administrative Assistant, Jessica Rezunyk (jrezunyk@wustl.edu), for assistance with installing links. Please feel free at any time to contact the Executive Director or any of the NCS officers with your suggestions about ways to improve the accessibility of NCS events.
